About this venue
The X-Cube at Theater Koningshof was the very first public X-Cube in the Netherlands (since 2020, after a departure in November 2022 it returned): a 4x4 meter space with a giant interactive touchscreen wall where 2 to 6 players play fully automated missions. The flagship is Spytraining in the World Intelligence Center — shadow a spy, crack codes, disarm a bomb — supplemented by franchise titles like The Traitors, Murder at the Mansion and Agent 8008. There is no host: after booking you get a door code, let yourself in and instead of escaping you end with a score ranking, which tempts friend groups into rematches. The sparse reviews (5 of them, 7-10) speak of a 'fantastic experience' where you stay engaged the whole hour, though enthusiasts find it more of an arcade hour than a real escape room without decor or story. Note: the current status is unclear — recent X-Cube location overviews and the Koningshof website no longer mention Maassluis, and some listings refer to Pathé Schiedam as the nearest cube.
