About this venue

Het Virtuorium on Breestraat in central Leiden is not a physical escape room but a VR arcade, with well over fourteen VR escape games from the well-known license catalog — from the supernatural Sanctum and House of Fear to the family-friendly Jungle Quest. Everything is played in headsets, standing or seated, so the venue pointedly also caters to seniors, the disabled and mixed groups; staff stay physically nearby to help. Visitors praise the friendly, homely welcome and the low threshold for VR newcomers, and for children's parties it counts as one of Leiden's favorite outings. The real escape community largely ignores licensed VR: on escapetalk only Alice has a score (7.5 based on one review) and the location itself has too few ratings for a rating. Complaints are rare, but the offering has no own identity — the same titles run in dozens of arcades across Europe.
