Puzzle & Escapegames was Voorschoten's first escape room, opening in late 2019 in the former 'De Groene Kikker' building next to the ice rink and set up in partnership with music school Timpaan. In the main room De Verdwenen Journalist you search as the newsroom's newest member for where a vanished music journalist went and what his unwritten article was about — a likeable investigation concept that reviewers called 'well-intentioned and carefully made'. The execution, however, remained at hobby level: virtually no decor, no technology and an atmosphere score of just 3.4, leaving the room hovering around 3.9 on escapetalk as one of the lowest-rated rooms in the region. A second room about the historic Blauwe Tram never really opened due to bankruptcy (around 2020, partly because of the timing). The venue is permanently closed.
