About this venue
Gamecity is a large leisure center in Zoetermeer (go-karts, laser tag, mini golf, arcade) and not a true escape room venue; the escape offering is Prison Island, a maze of corridors with 24 individual cells, each containing a physical, tactical or thinking challenge lasting 2 to 5 minutes. There's barely a story — you choose your own route freely, score points per cell and can simply retry failed cells, more Fort Boyard than escape room. Visitors describe it as a fun, varied afternoon full of laughter with friendly staff, but consistently warn: don't expect an escape room with story and flow. During busy times it becomes chaotic because multiple teams share the same corridors, and occasionally a cell is broken.
