Escaperoom Hillegom was a side activity of Skicentrum Hillegom and positioned itself as the Netherlands' only winter escape room: The Lawine Mysterie took place in a ski hut in the Austrian Alps, snowed in after an avalanche, with the authentic ski hall atmosphere serving as free décor. In two connected rooms, 2 to 8 players searched for clues, puzzles and riddles for an hour to find a way out—classic lock-and-key work, run by ski center staff alongside VR and iPad games. It made little impression: on escapetalk it stalled at 5.5 (based on one review) and never gained community attention. The room is now listed as permanently closed; no reason was ever made public.
