About this venue
DarkPark Vlaardingen hosted a single flagship experience: Stay in the Dark, a 150-minute horror experience spread across 4000 m² of a real abandoned, multi-story building at the old fire station. As prospective real estate buyers you view a dilapidated property, after which the tour turns into a sinister story full of tense silence, running for your life and a finale described as an 'epic boss battle' — barely an escape room anymore, more like immersive theater with a phenomenal live actor. Critics were enthusiastically over the top: 5/5 on Escape the Review, a Golden Lock Award 2024 and quotes like 'super intense and immersive, like you're in a video game'. The experience closed in May 2024 at its peak — not due to lack of demand, but because the building itself was lost; DarkPark continues in Delft and Zoetermeer. Puzzle purists did note that over 2.5 hours there were barely a handful of real puzzles.
