The X-Cube at DOCK Family Entertainment Center in Vlissingen is not a classic escape room but a high-tech digital cube of 4x4 meters, in the middle of an indoor jump park's floor. One physical space runs an entire menu of games — from Spy Training for children to 60-minute thrillers like Murder at the Mansion and The Traitors — with a large touchscreen, blacklight and light and sound effects instead of a game master. The franchise concept (identical cubes are in Pathé cinemas) scores high on production value and variety, with difficulty and play duration adjustable per booking. Visitors praise the polish and accessibility, but no one raves about the atmosphere: it remains a video game you stand in. The Vlissingen location itself has too few reviews for its own score.
