About this venue
The Loophole was one of Utrecht's most experimental escape room locations, with three story-driven rooms: The Maniac (locked in a 1950s psychiatric institution where you might not be able to trust your teammates), First Choice (the team is split and must reunite later), and The Break-In (break into a thriller writer's home to find his missing third novel). Reviewers praised the original concepts and stories 'that pull you in' — the location scored 8.4 on escaperoomsnederland — but complained about wait times between scripted moments and technical glitches. In late 2018, The Loophole merged with competitor Get Out of Here; The Maniac relocated to Overste den Oudenlaan. The location is permanently closed and the original website has since become an advertisement page.
