Real Adventure Game runs one room, The Queen, in a real medieval werven cellar beneath the Oudegracht, below the board game shop Subcultures. The game is based on Roald Dahl's short story Royal Jelly: as private detectives you investigate the mysterious chemist Beatrice Taylor, with a mission as the goal rather than simply escaping. The start is deliberately misleading — the story has already begun before you realise the game has started — and the game master thinks along via walkie-talkie in the fiction instead of giving ready-made hints. Visitors rave: a 9.5 on escaperoomsnederland.nl and a top position among Fun & Games in Utrecht on TripAdvisor, with praise for the originality, story and enthusiastic team. Meanwhile, a second, larger room has been added: Evermore, a monastery cellar setting for 14-36 players with 1.5-2 hours of playtime, alongside the small-scale The Queen.
