Outside Escape Amersfoort is not an escape room but an outdoor city game: via the browser on your own phone, you play a route of roughly 2.5 kilometres (around 2 hours) through the city centre. The story revolves around a Mondriaan fanatic threatening to flood the city with hidden bombs; you dismantle the threat by solving puzzles about Piet Mondriaan (born in Amersfoort) along the city square, medieval walls, gates and the Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren tower. There is no staff and no set dressing โ the city itself is the stage, with a fixed three-tier hint system where the third hint always gives the answer. Reviewers praise the clear instructions, the ability to start whenever you like and the route past Amersfoort's most beautiful spots; the brand scores 4.7 on Trustpilot. Caveats: some find the price steep for what you get, and those who actually want to enjoy the city sometimes find their heads stuck in their phones.
Took 56 Year 8 pupils on an escape room adventure in Amersfoort. Great fun, although a little too difficult for Year 8 pupils at times.โ Juliana School Overveen (outsideescape.nl)
Voor de originele prijs van 25 euro vind ik het het niet waardโ TripAdvisor
