About this venue
Gascape was the escape room at De Fabriek, a family activity center in Woerden, and had one of the most original premises in the province: it's December 31st, 1999, the millennium bug panic is at its height, and the gas station owner has cleaned out the shop and fled — but the safe with money is still there. Players and their 'partners in crime' had 60 minutes to break in and crack the safe, in a meticulously decorated 1990s gas station where virtually all puzzles were theme-related: cash registers, filing cabinets and the manager's office were the game itself, with an extra expert variant for experienced groups. Visitors were positive (escapetalk 8.1; escaperoomsnederland 9.2) and praised the décor, the logical flow and the enthusiastic hosts who walked you through the entire room afterwards. Gascape has since disappeared from De Fabriek's offerings: the activity list on fabriekwoerden.nl no longer mentions an escape room and the dedicated escape room page returns a 404.
