Swolland is an indoor and outdoor recreation park on the old Hessenweg in Zwolle (formerly AKA Escape Rooms) with escape rooms alongside bumper ball, axe throwing and event spaces. Its flagship is Area038 — the name combines Area 51 with area code 038: a hi-tech, actor-free 75-minute escape room in a secret underground government lab full of human experiments, weapons technology and alleged aliens, inspired by Half-Life, Fallout, Alien and Stranger Things. The room is packed with electronic console and sensor puzzles, characters appear via video cameos, and there are optional crawl and climb sections; outside stands the physical adventure game Temple Run.
