Escaperoom Kampen (Nieuwe Toren)

Kampen โ˜… 7,4 (escapetalk 7.4 (ambiance 8.4, game 6.7)) Closed 1 room

About this venue

Escaperoom Kampen took place in the Nieuwe Toren, Kampen's 17th-century carillon monument: a monk greeted you at the door and floor by floor you unraveled the mystery of a monastic order to ultimately discover the perpetrator's name โ€” winners were rewarded with a view from the roof. The authentic location did the heavy lifting: on escapetalk the atmosphere scored 8.4, while gameplay lagged at 6.7 due to disjointed puzzles, many red herrings and an awkward hint system in the tower with all its floors. After ten years, operator Kamper Events closed the room on December 1, 2025; a new concept has been announced for the monument, and Kamper Events' second room in the Koornmarktspoort is still running. This page remains mainly as reference for a room that is no longer bookable.

What visitors say

  • Beautiful, authentic location โ€” playing in a real national monument with a roof view as reward
  • The monk as costume greeter immediately drew you into the story
  • Unclear, disjointed puzzles with many red herrings โ€” teams didn't know when a floor was 'done'
  • Weak hint system and a confusing first lock
