About this venue
Zombie Escape Amsterdam was a horror escape room on Fokke Simonszstraat, close to the Heineken Experience, and has since permanently closed (signs point to ~2024/25); its own website is also no longer accessible and DagjeWeg.NL lists the location as 'CLOSED'. In the single room, Zombie Lab (Gen Lab Z), you found yourself in a genetic laboratory where an experiment had gone wrong — with the unique feature of a real, live zombie actor in the room with you as tangible time pressure. Visitors called it 'cool and scary' with a realistic atmosphere; some even called it Amsterdam's best escape room. The puzzles themselves were modest in level — great for newcomers, thin for veterans — and quality strongly depended on which host or actor you encountered. Criticisms included the flat ending and sometimes missing an intro briefing.
