About this venue
WaouW Outdoor Escape Games creates self-guided outdoor escape games at special locations: around Uithoorn/De Kwakel (with the bamboo maze as decor) and on Texel, where the company of founder Jaap Waverijn began. Instead of apps, you receive a box full of handmade props, coded documents and tools along routes on foot, by bike, car or Solex; the flagship De Kroongetuige combines an escape from a real bamboo prison with a 12.5 km evidence-gathering route against drug criminal "Groenewoud". Players praise the original stories rooted in local history, the lovingly made materials and the excellent service (escapetalk 8.5, service 9.5); the company won the local title "Business of the Year". Keep in mind weather dependency and substantial play times of up to five hours.
