About this venue
WaouW's mainland branch (since April 2024) takes place around Bamboelabyrint Nirwana in De Kwakel, a collaboration with the labyrinth and Poldersport. In the flagship De missie van de Kroongetuigen you are first locked in an actual bamboo 'prison' and then trek as a crown witness a 12.5 km route through Uithoorn and De Kwakel to gather evidence against drug criminal Groenewoud; there is also the shorter WWII game 80 Jaar Vrijheid around local resistance stories. Everything runs on handmade physical play materials rather than phones, with coffee and pastries as built-in breaks. Reviewers on escapetalk (8.5, service 9.6) praise the original puzzles with variety for each team member and good value for money; they are more critical of the bamboo maze puzzles being solved too quickly and a final step where one team long doubted whether it was on the right track.
