Escaperoom Grootebroek is part of leisure centre HappyDays (with an indoor go-kart track among others) in West-Friesland and has been running for years: earlier rooms like De Blokhut (nine years, closed April 2025) and De Bunker have been replaced by a strikingly narrative, period-driven line-up. In De Vloek van Mirella you lift a 300-year-old village curse; in Wright & Co you stand in the workshop of the Wright brothers just before the unveiling of the Wright Flyer II, and Monsieur Dupoint plays in the studio of a French toymaker whose dolls don't seem as innocent as they look. The two newest rooms last 75 minutes instead of the usual hour. Visitors rate it 8.3 on Escapetalk (33 reviews) and especially praise the warm welcome and well-timed hints — the service score of 9.0 is the trademark. Minor downsides: you sometimes hear the go-kart track through the walls and it feels more like a family leisure centre than a boutique immersion experience.
