About this venue

Avonturium (formerly Escape Room Egmond, opened 2018) is a family-friendly adventure location 5-10 minutes from Alkmaar (Mosselaan 130), with two indoor escape rooms plus an outdoor game and online games, suitable for groups of 2 to 50 people and from age 8 upwards. The two rooms are The Gold of Lutine, based on the real British ship Lutine that sank in 1799 with a huge gold cargo, and The Expedition, an Indiana Jones-style jungle journey to a hidden temple. The rooms are second-generation with strong, detailed theming, without an actor; The Expedition opens with a film intro after which you enter the room in a special way. Visitors are very positive (escapetalk 8.6-8.7, atmosphere up to 9.0) and praise the beautiful decor, original puzzles, helpful game masters and suitability for children and mixed families. The only real caveat: experienced enthusiasts find the difficulty level modest and miss story development after the opening premise.
