About this venue

De Uitvindfabriek was an interactive children's museum in the old candy factory De Faam, five minutes' walk from Breda Central Station. Inside was one escape room, Cityhackers, in which teams as 'city hackers' cracked codes about buildings, infrastructure and artworks in the city, while competing against another team. It was explicitly an educational STEM outing (from age 11, 6-12 players, only bookable on Wednesdays and Saturdays), built with agency Coded Club. Visitors praised the inventive, hands-on approach for families and school groups. The board definitively ended activities in Breda on 1 April 2026, partly because the building at De Faam is being redeveloped into housing; De Uitvindfabriek has been closed since then.
