The Throwback is a historical escape room in the cellar of Café-Restaurant De Wildeman in Vierlingsbeek, one of the oldest brown cafés in the Netherlands. The room is entirely built around the real, 200-year history of De Wildeman (hospitality at this location goes back to the 16th century) and was created for the 200th anniversary in 2023. With a team of 3-5 players you descend into times past and try to find your way back to the present within 60 minutes; the self-estimated difficulty is 'hard' (€20 per person, from age 12). The café pairs the room with food and drink packages upstairs. Public reviews of the room itself are virtually absent (too few ratings for a score), so this is a truly under-documented venue; the café itself is locally beloved as 'Vierlingsbeek's living room'.
