The City Escape Eindhoven is an outdoor city escape you play on your phone: in 1.5-2.5 hours over about 3 km through the city center you unravel the story of grocer Willem Latour, who built a treasure hunt to thank the Philips family and then vanished without a trace. You discover what happened to him and hunt for the 'lucky elixir' as the prize. Statues, building facades and street furniture become the props; the puzzles are original riddles you solve by reading the real environment, not through multiple choice. The story is deliberately woven with real Philips and city history, so you barely notice where fact ends and fiction begins. On escaperoomsnederland the tour scores remarkably high (9.4/10, albeit from 8 reviews); players praise discovering unknown corners of their own city and that it works for mixed ages. Disadvantage: the experience is fully automated without a human host, and TripAdvisor has no reviews yet.
