ShadowLab opened on 1 April 2025 at Oosterhoutseweg 13 in Rijen, on the site where 'Escaperoom Rijen' previously ran the duo-room De Kunstroof (some directories still list it there). Motto: 'where nothing is what it seems.' The core room is De Vermissing van de Kolonel, in which you uncover what happened to Colonel Van der Vliet who worked at the real air base Gilze-Rijen (~200 m away) and disappeared after his wife's sudden death; there is also the large outdoor room RED ALERT! Reviews are positive (EscapeAll 4.5/5 from 7 reviews) and praise the passionate owners and the fact that the theme is well integrated with the real surroundings. A nice marketing detail is the 'Geruchten' blog that seeds gossip about the location beforehand. The décor is modest/low-budget and there are still few prices or reviews published — it is a very young venue.
