Outdoor Escape at activity venue Bos & Co, on the edge of Boswachterij Dorst near Oosterhout, has offered an open-air escape since 2022: 'Red Alert', a design by ShadowLab described as 'a real escape room, but in the open air'. Near Rijen airbase something terrible has gone wrong; while sergeant Mustard shouts at you and smoke pours from a sealed container, you solve field puzzles to open it in time. The game comes in a single variant (4–8 players) and an XL team battle where two teams race against each other. The great strength is the live actor who gives the briefing and builds time pressure with his voice. Reviewers praise the sergeant, the energy, the collaboration under pressure and the surprisingly good puzzle quality (escapetalk 8.5); criticism is limited, though the review base is thin and you mainly play on weekends, where physical exertion counts.
