Gebaarderei is not a fixed escape room but a mobile concept that has been traveling throughout the Netherlands from Tilburg since 2017: the room 'Unlock the Signs' is set up in a space of the client's choosing. The theme is communication itself—speaking is forbidden, so you must solve the puzzles together using body language, mime and gestures (Dutch Sign Language). It is often combined with an interactive sign language workshop of about an hour and has a mission: to lower the threshold between deaf and hearing people. Due to the mobile, booking-only format, there are hardly any public reviews, but participants call it inspiring, educational and especially very funny, with much praise for the instructors themselves.
