Escape-room [esc] Eindhoven was part of the national [esc] chain and was located on the second floor of the Videolab building on Torenallee on Strijp-S, the old Philips site. The most famous room, 'Race tegen technologie', took you through the history of technical inventions — with nods to Philips — and the door only opened when you 'brought light and sound together'. The only thing reviewers really praised was how well the rooms were themed around the real history of the location; otherwise they complained about cheap finishing, poor detailing and especially number locks with little variety. It was a beginner's location. The entire [esc] chain closed on June 12, 2020 after corona plus ongoing costs exhausted the reserves. Little public information available.
