About this venue
The Escape Game at Center Parcs De Kempervennen is located in the Sport World of the holiday park in Westerhoven and is mainly aimed at holidaymakers and families, mostly first-timers. There are two rooms: 'Geheime Missie in St. Petersburg', in which you infiltrate a world-famous theatre to find documents hidden by the mafia, and 'Hotel California', a hotel mystery in the spirit of the Eagles song ('you can check in, but do you ever check out?'). The sets are nicely decorated but the gameplay is thin: St. Petersburg is essentially four puzzles for four codes, deliberately kept easy for children from age 7. Reviews score the service (friendly guide) high but the game low — with a venue rating of 4.3/10 the weakest in the region — and the biggest complaint is that the promised 60 minutes in practice often amounts to 25 to 40 minutes of thin content at a noticeably high price per person.
