Epic Escape is a boutique escape room in Waalwijk where only one group plays per session, so each party receives personal welcome and debrief. The flagship 'Illusion' — about illusionist Marcus Furore who disappeared fifty years ago — scores 9.6 on escapetalk (from ~803 reviews) and is one of the best-rated rooms in the Netherlands, winning a Golden Lock Award. Reviewers call the room 'magical': nothing spared on décor, lighting, sound, smoke and scents, with a seamless transition from intro to opening scene and 'magical' scene changes that redraw the space. The new second room 'Curiosa' (2026) takes place in owner Jeannette's curio shop, where nothing is what it seems. Criticism is rare: sometimes fog too thick, occasional technical hiccup, and the puzzles don't always make you feel like a true magician. Note: Illusion closes permanently on October 31, 2026.
