Prison Island in the All In 040 leisure center in Eindhoven is a Swedish franchise format best described as 'escape room meets Fort Boyard': a prison theme with 28 cells, each with its own independent mission โ tactical, physical or puzzle. Teams of 2 to 4 get an electronic access key, open cells by choice, earn points and can retry cells; well-known cells include dodging a laser field, puzzling in a tilted room and cracking codes. It's fully automatic: sensors count the points, there's a clear briefing beforehand but no game master and, according to reviews, no hints. The whole thing is timed (1 to 2 hours) rather than win-or-lose, with competition between teams. Visitors praise the pleasant reception, clear explanations and value for families (TripAdvisor around 4-4.5). Complaints: with some cells the objective is unclear, causing teams to waste their short time, and anyone expecting a true 'locked-in-and-escape' experience will find more of a modern games arcade instead.
Het was een geweldige ervaring voor ons gezin. De opdrachten waren uitdagend en leuk voor zowel volwassenen als kinderen.โ Uitmetkinderen
Ontvangst was erg fijn, de speluitleg was goed. Leuke kamers om te spelen, voor iedereen wat wils!โ Uitmetkinderen
Er zijn nog cellen waar we een hogere score kunnen pakken, ik wil dit spel nog een keer doen.โ Go-Kids
