The X-Cube in the Leisure Dome next to the Roda JC stadium in Kerkrade is not a classic escape room but a futuristic 'cube' of around 16 m² full of touchscreens, controllers, surround sound and light effects — described as a cross between an escape room and a video game. The same space loads different digital missions, from Spy Training and solving a murder to a heist or defusing a bomb, plus a variant on the TV format De Verraders. There is no gamemaster or actor; the cube runs fully automatically and delivers hints itself. Sessions of 30 or 60 minutes for 2 to 6 players, with separate kids' missions (including Agent 8008 with YouTuber Ronald Vledder). There is no aggregate score yet: escaperoomsnederland reports too few reviews and it is not listed as a rated location on escapetalk. It is primarily promoted as an accessible group and family outing; the implicit criticism of this format is that screen games miss the physical tactility of a real room.
