Powerarea in Lemiers (Vaals) is a leisure multiplex with go-karts, bowling, laser game and paintball, where five classic escape rooms previously operated. Those narrative-driven rooms (including The Virus Outbreak, The Zombie Apocalypse, The Treasure of Greenbeard, The Room of the Great Mysto and The Haunted Lodge) have since been replaced by 'Prison Area', a Fort Boyard-style cell complex where teams of 2-4 players rotate through cells and score points — a game show format, not a narrative escape. The old rooms were low-tech with many combination locks and numeric codes; reviewers praised the atmosphere, a nice twist and on good days an enthusiastic gamemaster, but were strict about maintenance: stiff locks, a combination lock that was off by one digit, broken props and especially the sound of the go-kart track leaking through the rooms. For the classic escape rooms there is no aggregate score; the enthusiast footprint is limited to individual room reviews.
