Land van Kalk offers not a classic escape room but an outdoor mystery game: a walk of roughly 3 km (2-3 hours) through Simpelveld, developed by the Land van Kalk cooperative together with Museum de Schat van Simpelveld and the Miljoenenlijn. The story revolves around a rediscovered diary in which an unknown writer tells how, as a boy, he was cured of measles by Clara Fey — a real 19th-century nun — and you travel back to January 17, 1886 to follow her route along authentic heritage sites, from the authentic Miljoenenlijn station to the convent, to discover who that boy was and help contribute to her canonization. It's a tourist product, not an enthusiast room: tourist channels pitch it warmly, but there are barely any independent reviews or scores. Honest assessment: pleasant and accessible, with low production value and no fail state.
