About this venue
House of Locks was an escape room on the grounds of Kasteel Limbricht, run by two enthusiastic owners who provided the game mastering themselves. The single room, Room 1308, was based on the film 1408: you play in a 'cursed' hotel room where nobody lasts longer than an hour, and must figure out what happened to paranormal investigator Mike van Breyll based on clues from previous guests. Visitors especially praised the atmosphere, the original puzzles and the hospitality (including a post-game chat with a snack platter in the castle restaurant) — the room scored 8.9 on escapetalk. Criticism came from somewhat cheap horror props and the linear layout with too little to do for 5 or 6 people. The location has since permanently closed (likely a covid casualty) and houseoflocks.nl is offline.
