About this venue
Race to Escape was the escape room attraction at party center De Postwagen (now renamed Posta7) in Tolbert: one Wild West story, refreshed three times (Race to Escape → Het Wilde Noorden → Het Wilde Vervolg) and each time cloned across five identical rooms. The story is set in Tolbert, 1913: criminal cowboys smuggle valuables via the new tram line and you help outlaw Patser Ponto stop the smuggling gang within 60 minutes. The big draw was the group competition — up to ~25 players at a time racing for the fastest escape time, ideal for large outings and corporate groups. Visitors praised the friendly service and fun technical features, but enthusiasts found the puzzles too easy (top teams escaped in 26 minutes) and reported reset differences between the cloned rooms. The escape rooms closed around 2025 during the Posta7 rebrand; the venue itself remains open with 'tentative plans' for a new room.
