Goldberg Escape is an idiosyncratic location on the Suikerterrein in Groningen, built in stacked shipping containers with an industrial steampunk atmosphere and physics-inspired room names. The house specialty is purely mechanical: all puzzles are physical contraptions you operate, without text or hints, making the rooms language-free and ideal for international groups. Visitors praise the originality of the mechanical puzzles, the unique container setting, and the enthusiastic, small-scale owners. However, experienced players miss narrative ('little to no story') and find the rooms sometimes too easy or cramped; occasionally a worn mechanism jams. The hardest room, Majorana Hide Out, revolves around the real disappearance of physicist Ettore Majorana in 1938.
