Escaperoom Stadskanaal was a murder mystery escape room, built in two real railway cars in the wagon shed of the Museumspoorlijn STAR (Stationsstraat 3, Stadskanaal). The setup: a murder has been committed on the train and you have 60 minutes to find the perpetrator via keys, codes, and clues — the atmosphere was modeled after the 'Murder on the Orient Express' film version from 2017 (1930s luxury train). Notably, you were not actually locked in: the winning condition was to identify the perpetrator, not to open the door. It was a small side activity alongside the museum railway with barely any online reviews; the own website is now a placeholder of the hosting provider and there has been no activity for years, so the room is almost certainly closed. Public information is very scarce.
