About this venue
Escape Time is located on Folkingestraat in central Groningen and opened in late 2016 with two real-life escape rooms: 'The Mystery of Bermuda Triangle' (investigate the room of missing researcher Williams, 'based on a true story') and 'The Cave' (escape as cave researchers before oxygen runs out). Those physical rooms have since closed; the business is still active with three VR escape rooms and promises real-life rooms 'coming soon'. When they were open, the rooms scored well (8.2) and visitors especially praised the intelligent, logical puzzles, the atmosphere in The Cave and the in-character performance of the hostess. Criticism focused on the small spaces and the finishing of décor/lighting, which lagged behind puzzle quality.
