About this venue
Escape Hunt Groningen (Het Hout 1) is a professionally run escape room venue with three themes, each in two identical rooms so groups can race against each other. The stories are deeply rooted in the real city: a deadly virus in the Hortus Botanicus, the theft of the KNVB Cup from the FC Groningen museum, and 'Rock's Piratenschat', based on the real 17th-century Groningen pirate Rock the Brazilian. Visitors praise the beautiful décor, welcoming staff and the competitive element; it's one of the highest-rated venues in the province (8.3). Experienced players find the puzzles somewhat easy and the rooms cramped for large groups, and occasionally report that the gamemaster doesn't always follow progress well.
