About this venue
Xcape Logix was a minute's walk from Nijmegen station and had three rooms in the Nijmegen era. Flagship was The van Gogh Code: a museum invites you to analyze a new Van Gogh collection, after which a mysterious conservator locks you in; the puzzles are woven into the paintings and the décor. The horror room Escape from the Dark has players starting chained in the dark, separated from each other, and was later expanded into an XL version for 4-6 players. The owners were hospitable (coffee/tea, thorough briefing), but the in-game layer was budget: reviewers report almost exclusively number locks and keys lying around. The split-start moment in the dark counts as the highlight, after which the game devolves into searching for locks. The Escapetalk score for Escape from the Dark XL is 4.5 (on the strict side). The Nijmegen location has closed; the brand moved to Elst.
