Real-Life Game: The Kidnap was not an ordinary escape room but a real-life horror game in the old Vasim factory in Nijmegen (approximately 2,500 m2), a mix of haunted house, film and escape room that opened in May 2019. Players (4-7 people, 18+, approximately 2 hours) became the kidnapped victims themselves: every year on May 8th people disappear in Nijmegen and you had to unravel the decades-old mystery while criminal Nicky M. prowled through the building, with real actors who were allowed to touch you and restrain you. Reviews especially praised the skilled acting, the immersion and the eerie abandoned factory (escaperoomsnederland 8.8 on 5 reviews). Around 2021 the location became unavailable and despite the search for a new venue, nothing has been launched since; the experience is therefore closed.
