Prison Island Veluwe is not a classic escape room but a cross between an escape room and Fort Boyard, located on the mysterious activity location Kroongeheim in the middle of the Veluwe woods near Uddel. Teams of 3 or 4 players get a key and choose which of the 26 unique cells they dare to tackle, each with its own puzzle or physical challenge: math, running, teamwork, dexterity. There's no overarching story; it's all about scoring as many points as possible within the time, with a high score as motivation. Visitors praise the variety, competition and replayability, but service and personal guidance remain somewhat thin (escapetalk 7.0 on few reviews). Prison Island can be combined with other Kroongeheim activities such as glow minigolf and e-choppers.
