Het Buitencentrum in Oldebroek ('t Loo, near Zwolle) is an outdoor group accommodation and activity center with one striking escape room: The Old Mine. You infiltrate an abandoned gold mine via a 150-meter-long artificial tunnel system, crawling in the dark with helmet and headlamp, gathering codes and ultimately cracking the final locks to escape via the mine shaft. Part of the group stays behind in a command room and guides the crawlers with secret instructions. Built for large groups (5-15 players, ~90 min, from age 8) and heavily marketed as children's parties and team outings. Visitors especially praise the tunnel experience itself as unique and exciting, but note that splitting the group removes shared tension and that the pace falters when sub-groups have to wait for each other.
