Escaperoom Doetinchem was the first escape room in the Achterhoek (since 2016, Korte Kapoeniestraat) with four rooms: the mafia-casino-themed Crime, the apocalypse duo The Bunker and Space — which could be played as a 16-person battle against each other — and an educational kids' room with a WWII theme. As an independent business, the location is listed as closed, but the identical rooms are still bookable via Partycentrum Doetinchem, into which the operation was integrated (both under 'Even Uit evenementen'). The technology remained first-generation: padlocks and codes with some sensors, monitored via cameras and hints through speakers. Reviews paint it as a middling performer (6.4 on escaperoomsnederland.nl): praise for the guidance and parallel gameplay in Crime, criticism of the cheap setup, unsolicited hints, and a broken sensor with no way to reach the games master.
