About this venue
Escape Room Winterswijk is a large leisure operation next to Kartbaan Winterswijk, with three adult rooms, two children's rooms and a lounge for groups up to 65 people. What's unique is The Mystery of Mondriaan, built in collaboration with museum Villa Mondriaan (Mondriaan grew up in Winterswijk) — reportedly the first Dutch museum with a permanent escape room partnership, where you unravel the painter's lifetime secret. There's also the Après-Ski room 'Golden Flügel', which exists in two identical copies that can be played as a battle room against each other. Visitors find it 'super fun' and creatively designed with surprising elements (9.0 on escaperoomsnederland.nl), but enthusiasts complain about broken props, locks that won't open and puzzles that are pitched too easy. More of a social and group outing than a room for demanding players.
