Escape Room Beekbergen was located at the outdoor center Veluwe-Valley and was built for large groups: two themes in four identical shipping containers, so up to four teams of eight could race against each other simultaneously in 45-minute games. The Heineken Ontvoering was based on the real kidnapping of Freddy Heineken and Ab Doderer in 1983 (including coded messages via newspaper ads), The Mexicaanse Gevangenis on El Chapo's breakout. Visitors found the Veluwe location beautiful and the staff friendly and generous with hints, but the containers were cramped and acoustically poor, the puzzles strictly one-by-one and without logical connection to the story — 'fun but not particularly special, especially for beginners'. The rooms are registered as permanently closed on escapetalk.
