Escaperoom De Kolenmijn at activity park Veluwse Poort in Dieren, on the edge of National Park Veluwezoom, takes you down into a 'rediscovered' coal mine from 1865—including the myth of the notorious tunnel 9, where three miners drowned before the mine closed in 1930. The reception itself is the strongest ritual: you get boots, an overall and a mining helmet with lamp that you really need in the dark, cramped tunnels, and an authentic lift takes you down.
