De Nooduitgang by recreation team Lytje Willem was the northernmost escape room in the Netherlands, built in an actual Pipowagen at Badweg on Schiermonnikoog. The theme changed quarterly and was always rooted in island life. The sparse reviews (a 7 and a 9 on escaperoomsnederland.nl) praise the charm and fair difficulty level, but missed a storyline connecting the puzzles together; on sunny days it also became uncomfortably warm in the wagon. The escape room has since closed — the when and why were never publicly explained. The Lytje Willem foundation itself still operates fully and organizes beach and nature activities for vacationing families on the island.
