About this venue
The Kids Escape Room at indoor play forest Speelbos Joure (since January 2019) is an escape room purely for children, built around a wall full of wooden boxes with locks. The first box gives tips and tricks; each solved box yields the key to the next, in a chain that gets increasingly difficult, until the group escapes after 45-60 minutes. An adult supervisor stays in the room the entire session, gives tailored hints and there's an emergency button — fear is deliberately designed out, and each child receives an Escape Room Diploma afterward. There's no real story or décor: the boxes are the game, tested for children 6 to 12 and mainly popular as a birthday party activity. The escape room community doesn't review children's products like this, but parents rate Speelbos itself positively as well-organized and well-supervised party fun.
