About this venue
Escaperoom Wolvega opened in October 2017 at the Van der Valk hotel Wolvega-Heerenveen with two rooms cleverly set within the hotel itself: in The Diamond you hunted for the heavily secured diamond of the Van der Valk family, in The Piccolo you investigated a shady bellhop who was extorting guests. For 2017, it was surprisingly modern, with intro films, light and sound effects, and professionally designed décor, operated from a single iPad. Local press and visitors were consistently positive about the stories, creative puzzles, and enthusiastic staff. At the end of 2019, Van der Valk reclaimed the spaces as hotel rooms, but the same two rooms have since been recreated at Fit & Fun Plaza on the Grindweg in Wolvega, where The Diamond and The Piccolo can be booked again.
