Escape Room - The Holiday was a micro-venue at recreation park de Wite Burch in the forested Gaasterland: one room, played in an actual vacation cottage on the park, as a side activity of the campground. The story: you rented the luxuriously described cottage 'de Houtsnip', but find a dilapidated hovel — scammed. When you call the owner the argument escalates: he turns out to be leader of a motorcycle gang and comes to settle up within an hour. The handful of reviews were glowing (8.5 on escapetalk, based on just four ratings): a compelling theme on a beautiful campground, a well-constructed puzzle sequence and especially the surprise that the shabby cottage hides more than it shows. The room has since closed permanently; a reason was never published, but the profile — one seasonal room with barely any online visibility — tells its own story.
