The Waypoint Experience Center is an interactive experience center under construction above the drop-off point of the thrift store of addiction care organization Waypoint on Urk; opening is expected in late summer 2026. The planned escape rooms simulate recognizable Urk environments — an alley, a bar and a living room — full of subtle signals of alcohol, drug, gambling and gaming addiction that players learn to recognize while puzzling. The twist: you escape not only from the room, but symbolically also 'from the grip of addiction'. The project is education-first (Waypoint is a Christian prevention foundation within the THDV network) and is broadly supported: the auction of the first May school brought in over 150,000 euros for the center.
